Discovering, Accepting and Respecting Your Boundaries
This class is tailored specifically to giving Sensual Sacred Touch, with specific information related to Scarlet Sanctuary. Giving Sensual Sacred Touch is a gift when given within the boundaries of the receiver. Usually, we ask the Seeker about their boundaries, but what about your boundaries? Do you know them? How do you honor them? When we honor our boundaries in addition to those of the seeker, sensual touch can also be a gift to yourself. Honoring both sets of boundaries helps us maintain the beauty of the gift and keep the energy clear and positive.
Experiential exercises and discussion in multiple sessions will allow you to explore your boundaries and how to work with them. The awareness of your boundaries, the tools for exploring them and ideas we generate on honoring them will be helpful for participating in Scarlet Sanctuary, and can be transferred to other aspects of life.
Modern Misconceptions around Sexuality
We are raised in a society where we are taught that sex is bad, evil and dirty. But sex is a biological function and necessary to each individual’s mental well-being. Various texts, recordings, videos will help us to understand how our sexual identities are on a spectrum from male to female, from heterosexual to homosexual to gender fluidity and how we can’t make a moral judgment about any of the variants when it is a biological issue. This is information that can be helpful when dealing with people seeking loving touch in how we perceive them and how they perceive us as givers.
The History of the Qadishtu Path
The work of the Qadishtu as it fits within our lives today is made more meaningful by understanding the history of this longstanding tradition. The Qadishti appeared, under many names and guises, across a variety of traditions in ancient times: their view of sexuality as sacred sacrament is a constant theme regardless of time and cultural milieu. This course will provide initiates with a solid understanding of the history of the tradition that they seek entry into so that their roots are firmly planted in the footsteps of those servants of the Divine Feminine who have gone before them.
Tantra and Eastern Sexual Magick
We have provided a link to a class on the subject of Eastern Sexual Magick where David Torrey provides a basic overview of Eastern Sexual Magick methods and how they might be utilized in a Qadishti context. Chaos Magick modalities support blending Tantric and Taoist principles in creative, interesting and effective ways. The 20th Anniversary edition (1999) of Nik Douglas and Penny Slinger’s book Sexual Secrets: The Alchemy of Ecstasy will be referenced; as well as a broad corpus of Eastern thought. Just remember there are no “Sexual Secrets” … just human beings trying to energetically connect in meaningful, compassionate and loving ways.
Contemporary Qadishtu
We will listen to podcasts and read articles published by modern day sacred sexuality practitioners, followed by discussions on how to be Qadishtu in today’s world.
There are also numerous links to readings and podcasts to read and listen to in this wonderful and vast subject. Enjoy!
